Annual General Meeting 2024 - 2025 & Get Together

The second Annual General Meeting of the Colombo Physiotherapy Association was held on 27th July, 2024 at Amalya Reach hotel, Homagama as a hybrid event. Vidya Jothi Professor Vajira H.W. Dissanayaka, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo joined with the event as the chief guest. Ms. Minuka Jayasinghe, President of ColPAA welcomed the gathering. Last AGM minutes were presented by Ms. Hashini Nimesha, Secretary of the Association. Minutes were proposed by Mr. Pavithra Wickramasinghe and seconded by Mr. Nilanka Pradeep. The treasurer, Mr. Akila Wickramaarachchi presented the financial report for the period from year 2022 – 2024.

Clinical workshop for final year students - 2024

Clinical workshop for final year students of 2018 A/L batch, which was conducted by ColPAA, is successfully completed on 15th and 66th March, 2023. Mr. Chathuranga Jayalath, Mr. Dasun Ruwanpathirana, Ms. Chanika Ramanayake, Mr. M.R.M. Wesmy, Mr. Piyajeewa Padmalal Rubasinghe shared their clinical knowledge in Neurological, Pediatric, Musculoskeletal and Respiratory physiotherapy with students.

Clinical workshop for final year students - 2023

Clinical workshop for final year students of 2017 A/L batch, which was conducted by ColPAA, is successfully completed on 25th and 26th March, 2023. Mr. M.R.M Wesmy (Senior Physiotherapist at Lanka Hospital), Ms. Ishari Anuruddhika (Physiotherapist at Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children), Ms. Taniya Wijesinghe (Manager Physiotherapy at Durdens Hospital), Mr. Suresh Chathurantha (Chief Physiotherapist at Central Chest Clinic) and Mr. Chathuranga Jayalath Perera (Chief Physiotherapist at Department of Respiratory Care, Kings Hospital) shared their clinical knowledge in Neurological, Pediatric, Musculoskeletal and Respiratory physiotherapy with students.

Annual General Meeting 2022-2023

The first Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held at UCFM tower, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo on Friday 25 November 2022. AGM provided members to present their comments or rejections on selected office bearers and committee members through the online voting system. Furthermore, the constitution and the financial report were presented to members.

First Gathering of Colombo Physiotherapy Alumni Association

After the recommendation of the program review on 5^th – 8^th February, 2020 to establish an Alumni association for B.Sc. (Honours) Physiotherapy, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, few of passed out colleagues got together and organized the first gathering on 15^th March, 2020 at Hector Kobbekaduwa Agrarian Research and Training Institute, Colombo 07 with participation of 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 batches. A pre-committee has appointed with the idea of establishing an Alumni Association in future.
