Colombo Physiotherapy Alumni Association (ColPAA) was initially started with the purpose of strengthening the B.Sc.(Honours) Physiotherapy degree of the Department of Allied Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo as the recommendation of the program review on 5^th -8^th February, 2020. There was the first gathering on 15^th March, 2020 at Hector Kobbekaduwa Agrarian Research and Training Institute, Colombo 07 with participation of 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 batches. There, a pre-committee with the idea of establishing an Alumni Association in future. Also, below officers were named temporarily;

President – Mrs. Dilani Jayasinghe

Secretary – Mrs. Chamali Wickramasinghe

Treasurer – Mr. Akila Wickramanayake

Dilani Jayasinghe (2005 A/L), Thilini Thennakoon (2006 A/L), Chamali Wickramasinghe (2007 A/L), Akila Wickramanayake (2007 A/L), Nuwan Rodrigo (2007 A/L), Hashini Nimesha (2009 A/L), Wageesha Wijesiriwardane (2009 A/L), Tharani Panditha (2010 A/L) and other brothers and sisters planned some future plans with lots of obstacles.
As a result of it the first constitution of ColPAA was prepared. ColPAA was approved and minuted at the faculty board of Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo on 12^th October, 2021. Thereafter, ColPAA has received all rights to function as a separate Alumni association under the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo.
